About the Journal

Multidisciplinary Innovations and Research in Applied Engineering (MIRAE) is a scientific journal published by Akademi Inovasi Indonesia, which focuses on research and development in the scope of science and technology. MIRAE journal is published twice a year in June and December. All articles submitted to MIRAE journal will go through a peer review process by expert reviewers in their respective fields. The final decision on the publication of the article will be taken by the journal editor.

The editors welcome the submission of manuscripts that explain current theoretical and experimental research related to: (1) Original research articles; (2) Review articles; (3) Case studies.

MIRAE journal publishes original and review articles that advance the understanding of the fundamentals of engineering science and its application to solutions to challenges and problems in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing, and innovative multidisciplinary fields. Manuscripts approved for publication have been reviewed by reviewers and can be downloaded for free through our website.

Peer Review Process

Authors submit their research manuscripts to the journal that aligns with the journal’s focus and scope. This process is a crucial part of scientific publication in academic journals and aims to ensure that only high-quality and original research is published in the MIRAE journal. The editorial team has full authority over the acceptance or rejection of research manuscript submissions to the MIRAE journal.

Steps of the Review Process:

  1. Manuscript Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts through the online journal management system. Manuscripts must adhere to the writing guidelines specified by the MIRAE journal. Authors may also suggest 2-3 reviewers who are experts in the relevant research field. However, the final decision regarding reviewer selection lies with the editor.
  2. Initial Screening by the Editor: The editor conducts an initial screening of the manuscript to ensure its alignment with the journal’s focus and scope and compliance with the writing guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be returned to the authors without further review.
  3. Selection of Reviewers: The editor selects reviewers who have expertise in the research field discussed in the manuscript. The chosen reviewers are independent experts who have no conflicts of interest with the authors or the submitted research.
  4. Review Process by Reviewers: Reviewers conduct a thorough review of the manuscript and provide comments and suggestions for improvement. This review process is single-blind, where the reviewers' identities are concealed from the authors to maintain objectivity. The estimated duration of the review process is 1-2 weeks.
  5. Editorial Decision: After receiving reports from the reviewers, the editor makes a decision based on the comments and suggestions provided. The decision can be:
    • Accepted without revisions
    • Accepted with minor revisions
    • Accepted with major revisions
    • Rejected
  6. Revisions by the Author: If the manuscript requires revisions, the authors are given the opportunity to improve the manuscript according to the reviewers' comments and suggestions. Revisions must be resubmitted through the journal management system within the specified timeframe.
  7. Re-review (if necessary): Revised manuscripts may need to undergo a re-review by the reviewers to ensure that all suggested improvements have been adequately addressed.
  8. Publication: Accepted manuscripts will proceed to the publication process. Authors will be informed about the publication schedule and the final stages of the publishing process.
